A friend just bought a Paramount Pictures Home Theater, I asked him who makes it, and he says Paramount Pictures. I have never heard of this, does Paramount make stereo equipment for home theater?

Paramount Pictures does not produce a "home theatre". They do produce DVDs, HD-DVDs and Blu-Ray DVDs for use in home theatres.
